New Bluetooth® Compatibility Certification Program

New Bluetooth® Compatibility Certification Program – launched by the CTIA

In order to improve the user experience for the growing number of Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones and headsets, CTIA has set up a new certification program. The “Bluetooth® Compatibility Certification Program” is targeted to mobile phones and headsets sold in the USA.
The new program will be in addition to the current Bluetooth® SIG (Special Interest Group) Qualification Program.
All Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones and Bluetooth® headsets require testing against a list of “CTIA approved B-devices”, according to the new CTIA program. Testing has to take place in a CTIA authorized testing laboratory (CATL), which has the required B-devices available. It is requested to pass such test successfully from 12 February 2009 onwards.
7 layers, an experienced Bluetooth® Qualified Test Facility (BQTF) and CATL, has already conducted these new test services during the pilot phase against its “CTIA approved B-device” library.
This is why 7 layers is amongst the very few laboratories worldwide that have already gathered experience with these test set-ups.
