Car Connectivity Consortium test event

7Layers on the way to become authorized test laboratory
for MirrorLink(TM) certification

Beginning of September the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) held its first certification event in Munich, Germany.

About CCC

Founded back in March 2011, the CCC is a group of world’s leading car and handset manufacturers working together to drive phone-centric car connectivity solutions. The MirrorLink(TM) technology (previously known as “Terminal Mode”) shall support seamless connectivity between the built in infotainment systems of vehicles and driver’s smart phones. The car’s dashboard will work as a portal to the phone, potentially eliminating risky behavior whilst driving. First commercially available CCC products are expected towards end 2011.

7Layers taking part in CCC certification event

The first CCC certification event, took place in Munich, beginning of September. CCC invited Smart Phone and head unit manufacturers as well as test laboratories to come together for a testing event. Members of the 7Layers test laboratories were thoroughly introduced to the CCC certification test tool as well as the implemented technologies.

As a result of our successful participation in this event, 7Layers can now look forward to receiving authorized status by CCC, which will allow us to perform MirrorLink(TM) certification testing in the very near future.
