7Layers partners with Technical University of Chemnitz for MirrorLink App Certification

Logo of MirrorLink Certification fro CCC7Layers has entered a partnership with the Technical University of Chemnitz in the field of Driver Workload Testing for the MirrorLink App Certification Program.

In this cooperation, the professorship of the Cognitive and Engineering Psychology at TU Chemnitz is taking the position of a “Subject Matter Expert” for Driver Distraction and Driver Workload testing, whilst 7Layers has the position of a “MirrorLink Authorized Application Test Lab” (AppATL).

The Car Connectivity Consortium has fully authorized 7Layers to cover all levels and regions of MirrorLink App Certification, making 7Layers to the first test laboratory to offer both Base-Level AND Drive- Level Application testing in Europe & North America & Japan.

Testing is executed based on the regional automotive safety guidelines, issued by the
– Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (AAM)
– National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
– European Statement of Principle (ESoP)
– Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA)

The first Apps have already been successfully tested by 7Layers and been certified by the Car Connectivity Consortium, with more and more Apps waiting in the queue.
