HTC Connect7layers tests first Bluetooth compatible speaker for HTC Connect Program

Ratingen, Germany, 26 February 2014: 7layers, an international test & engineering company that continues to improve the use of wireless communications technologies, today announced  that it has tested the connectivity of the new Awox StriimLIGHT™, as part of the HTC Connect™ program. Awox StriimLIGHT™ is an energy efficient LED light bulb with an integrated Bluetooth® speaker.

The number of gadgets entering the global market that aim at enhancing the connectivity and interaction between consumers’ smartphones and multimedia content is increasing rapidly. That makes interoperability a key success factor for global consumer electronics brands. The HTC Connect program provides a new level of convenience through improved integration and user experience between compatible HTC smartphones, such as the HTC One® with HTC Sense™5.5, and HTC Connect compatible consumer electronic products.

The HTC Connect program allows compatible HTC smartphones to connect to the AwoX StriimLIGHT via Bluetooth® and stream music. A remote control regulates the volume of the music or turns the light on and off.

“We were amazed by the easy connectivity, stability, build quality, and design of the Awox StriimLIGHT and compatible HTC phones,” said Michael Beine, team manager at 7layers. “Testing was done based on specially chosen Bluetooth® test cases. Our close partnership with the HTC Connect program and familiarity with the technology has made testing and certification a smooth experience, and we look forward to testing more interesting devices for HTC in the near future.”

“The 7layers team has demonstrated the technical knowhow and experience working with wireless communications technologies,” said Jeff Chang, HTC Connect program manager at HTC. “AwoX StriimLIGHT became the first HTC Connect compatible Bluetooth device and we expect more partners to join the HTC Connect Program.”
