Azerbaijan: Updated certification process for EMC

The Republic of Azerbaijan forced a regulation as part of Decision No. 175 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and updated the process.

Since beginning of December of 2020, a separate certification process for EMC aspects has been established and a separate approval document will be released. Previously, the SAFETY certification by AZS (Azerbaijan Standardization Institute) covered all EMC directives. Now, a separate institute has received legal permission by AzAK (Azerbaijan Accreditation Center) to perform EMC conformity assessment.

As long as there is a valid SAFETY certificate covering the EMC standards, there is no need to issue a separate EMC approval, the validity will be kept. This regulation does not influence existing requirements for a national radio approval.

Eventually, three different certificates are required for market access in Azerbaijan: radio, safety, EMC.
