USIM testing

USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) is an application for 3G and LTE mobile telephony, that runs on a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC). Specified characteristics and requirements need to be tested in order to ensure interoperability of the UICC Terminal Interface with the USIM. The applicable test sequences which verify the interoperability between the UICC Terminal Interface and the USIM are described by 3GPP, ETSI and Verizon Wireless.
USIM interface conformance tests at 7layers are available for end-products such as mobile phones, computers and data stick as well as for modules and reference designs. Tests require the joint operation of a USIM simulator and a 3G network simulator. For 3G USIM and LTE USIM testing we rely on our InterLab Test Solution USIM and InterLab LTE-USIM/USAT.

USIM testing is mandatory for

  • GCF conformance
  • PTCRB conformance
  • Verizon Wireless approval

USIM testing at 7layers is available for the following technologies

  • GSM
  • HSPA
  • LTE (TDD)
  • LTE (FDD)
