HSUPA is beginning to gain momentum!

HSUPA stands for High Speed Uplink Packet Access and describes the most efficient procedure for sending data via UMTS devices available today. HSUPA is a 3G mobile telephony protocol belonging to the HSPA family. HSUPA offers enhanced data rates, fast packet retransmission mechanisms, and reduced packet latencies. The uplink data rate for HSUPA is increased up to a theoretical maximum of 5.76 Mb/s. Characteristics of HSUPA are described by the 3GPP (3rd generation Partnership Project), Release 6.

Currently a number of HSUPA test cases are in the process of being validated and they will become mandatory over the next few months. For FCC testing in the USA certain HSUPA tests are already a must.

7 layers is the first 3rd party telecommunications test laboratory worldwide, offering HSUPA testing, both for protocol and RF testing. Manufacturers can benefit from our experience regarding HSUPA testing, which we have gained in some very early projects involving FCC testing and type approval handling. Testing on conformance test equipment at this early stage will assure manufacturers that the basic HSUPA characteristics of their devices are functioning correctly, a big advantage compared to pure interoperability testing, which depends highly on the network the device is being tested in.

7 layers has integrated the HSUPA test capabilities into its Rapid Response Network, making these test capabilities available from anywhere in the world and allowing you to watch the project progress conveniently via web access.
