InterLab USAT TEST SOLUTION, V. 3.0
based on R&S 3G Protocol Testers and 3G SIM Simulator
Today’s product development and testing cycles
require the automation of a large number of processes, in order to
achieve reproducible, reliable results and speed up time consuming,
repeating procedures. Due to the growing complexity of 3rd
Generation User Equipment, the according development processes are
especially demanding.
In 3rd Generation User Equipment
a number of functionalities, like for example the USIM Application
Toolkit (USAT), are implemented on the Universal Integrated Circuit
Card (UICC). In order to ensure interoperability between the User
Equipment, a 3G network, the USAT and the UICC, it is necessary to
test specified characteristics and requirements.
The 3GPP Test Specification 31.124
covers the applicable test sequences which verify the
interoperability between the UICC, the User Equipment and mandatory
User Equipment procedures, especially for the
USIM Application
Toolkit (USAT). The required USAT Test Cases are based on several
test systems and require the synchronization of various test steps.
The necessary, simultaneous operation of the test systems makes it
difficult to ensure reproducible testing and is highly time
consuming, especially if performed manually.
The USAT Test Solution is designed to facilitate the performance
of tests which require the joint operation of an USIM simulator and a 3G
Network simulator.
These tests are requested by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and
North American Certification Program (PTCRB) according to TS 31.124.
The new Test Solution V. 3.0 is easy to set up and manage. It provides
all approved USAT test cases and other useful technology information.
The InterLab USAT Test
Solution, V 3.0 is based on a new modular architecture with a clear
focus on the demands of the operator.
In order to reduce
complexity, the USAT Test Solutions provides you with only one Graphical
User Interface (GUI) for both test systems involved. A wide range of
further capabilities is supported in order to achieve fast, reliable and
reproducible test results:
▬ direct access
to all tests combined with extensive filter,
grouping, sorting and duplicating functionalities
▬ sequenced synchronization of the complete test process
ensuring reliable and reproducible testing
▬ automatic availability of final results by combining verdicts
of all involved test equipment
▬ update & maintenance services for the USAT Test Solution are
provided, based on mandatory service contracts with 7
layers
If required you can run
fully automated test sequences by using remote control interfaces of the
User Equipment. Full automation allows the performance of test sequences
without any user interaction. Remote control interfaces can be activated
by using standard and / or proprietary AT commands or integrating
customer specific software tools.
The InterLab USAT
Test Solution is a registered test platform by the Global
Certification Forum (GCF) and North American Type approval regime
(PTCRB) with validated test sequences for FDD I, FDD II and FDD V.
