7 layers Japan, a new test laboratory of the 7
layers group, is now accredited by DaTech (ISO 17025), PTCRB and GCF.
The former 7 layers Agency Japan was transformed into a fully equipped 7 layers test laboratory for the wireless industry earlier this year.

7 layers is the first CTIA accredited test laboratory to enlarge its test service portfolio with Spirent’s new Over-The-Air (OTA) test solution for Assisted-GPS (A-GPS).
Spirent and 7 layers worked closely together on implementation and verification of the new tests on Spirent’s ULTS. The new OTA tests for A-GPS will help to ensure a consistent level of A-GPS performance and to increase end-user satisfaction with A-GPS services.

is currently working on a new certification program. The “Bluetooth® Compatibility Certification Program” is targeted to mobile phones and headsets sold in the USA. 7 layers already conducts these new test services against a number of CTIA approved devices.

This month 7 layers is opening its new test and service center "7 layers Japan" in Yokohama. As new part of the 7 layers group, 7 layers Japan will now provide all test and market access services necessary for the Japanese Telecommunications Market plus all other test services, important for Japanese manufacturers when entering the global market.

Another new W-CDMA frequency band is approaching the world of cellular communication. It links the frequency bands 880-915 MHz (Uplink) and 925-960 MHz (Downlink) to the so called UTRA FDD band 8.

California’s fires have spared 7 layers in Irvine
California's worst fires in four years, driven by hot Santa Ana winds which did not relent for three days, tormented the San Diego area last week. 7 layers in Irvine was threatened by the fires, but thanks to the engagement of the Californian fire workers and the considerateness of the 7 layers employees, the building was saved and the test laboratories continued to work even through the necessary power cuts.
