According to Japanese law, radio and telecommunications devices can fall under two different laws,
the “radio law” and the “business law”. Depending on the integrated technologies and the kind
of equipment, certification according to one or both laws is mandatory.

There are several certification bodies and one standardization organization called “Arib”.
