The dynamic and constantly changing markets of the wireless communications industry require technological progress at increasingly short intervals. An experienced partner like 7 layers can help you succeed in this demanding environment. 7 layers is an independent group of accredited test and service centers for the wireless industry. We support industries that are applying technologies such as GSM, GPRS, HSPA, W-CDMA, EDGE, 3G, TETRA, W-LAN, Bluetooth (R) and other modern wireless communications technologies, such as GPS, LTE etc.

The group was founded 1999 in Ratingen (Germany) near Düsseldorf. Further test and service centers, belonging to the 7 layers group have been established in Irvine (USA), Beijing and Shanghai (P.R. of China), Suwon Si (Seoul, Korea), Yokohama (Japan) and Taipei (Taiwan). They get additional support from our office in Tel-Aviv (Israel). Our key personal has more than 25 years of experience in systems engineering and testing for wireless and mobile communications technologies.

7 layers offers test & market access services. Our laboratories are accredited according to ISO 17025 and PTCRB. They provide services in accordance with ETSI standards, the R&TTE directive, FCC rules, Bluetooth (R) SIG etc.

Our test service portfolio ranges from pre-certification testing to regulatory and certification testing to market acceptance tests. For conformance testing we use a wide range of modern test systems from all leading manufacturers.

Interoperability and field testing is conducted by well educated test staff, for fast and reliable results.

Clients stay in control of their projects via a real-time web access. This enables them to view project data in real time and organize immediate actions.

7 layers develops highly automated test solutions, especially suitable for complex test set-ups. They are being used for R&D and/or Certification test purposes both by manufacturers’ in-house laboratories and test houses.

We also offer engineering services such as development of technology specifications, test specifications, test cases and test set-ups. We have been involved in the development of several certification schemes. Amongst other such services, 7 layers developed a new web-portal which supports and eases the PTCRB test and certification process.

Independence
7 layers is a stock corporation, neither a manufacturer nor a service provider nor an association of the Information Industry has a major part in 7 layers shares.

Integrity
7 layers and its employees are impartial and independent. Engineers who are responsible for the operation of test and qualification programs will not take part in services concerning the optimization of product development.

Confidentiality
All services and test-activities will be handled confidentially, if necessary secured by a "confidentiality agreement". Documents and data will be in safe keeping.

The name "7 layers"
7 layers has been named after the OSI (Open System Interconnection) reference model, which divides communication systems into seven layers. The OSI seven layers model contains all aspects possible in a communications system and describes all possible functions, just as 7 layers is able to support its clients with development and test services for all seven layers.
